Best Mobile / Casual Game
The Indie Game Award for Best Mobile Game recognizes the achievement of mobility gameplay innovation, which features are appropriate to the platform, its user interface, and overall compelling experience.
Best Debut Indie Game
The Indie Game Award for Best Debut Indie Game recognizes the achievement of a game created by a new independent studio. It rewards small, independent studios/developers (< 50 full-time equivalents) who took some chances.
Best PC Game
The Indie Game Award for Best PC Game recognizes the achievement in a PC game’s usability and playability, experience, its use of the platform strengths and innovation and/or originality.
Best Console Game
The Indie Award for Best Console Game recognizes the achievement in a Console game’s usability and playability, experience, its use of the platform strengths and innovation and/or originality.
Best Audio Design
The Indie Game Award for Best Audio Design recognizes the achievement for audio design in a game. Judges will be looking at its coherence with the title/brand, its immersion, quality of integration and of composition.
Best Technology
The Indie Game Award for Best Technology/Innovation recognizes the developments and implementation of new technology, graphics programming, AI, and networking. Must be an advancement developed in-house, or use of individual aspects built by the developer if using third-party graphics and physics engines and tools.
Best Narrative
The Indie Game Award for Best Narrative recognizes the achievement for a game narrative. It will be awarded based on the story and vision, as well as the dialogues (if applicable) and the emotional impact of the story on the player.
Best Score / Soundtrack
The Indie Game Award for Best Score/Soundtrack recognizes the achievement for a game soundtrack. It has to be an original composition, made for the game itself, and has to present a high quality of integration within the game as well as its impact on the game experience
